Kerala food for Narendra Modi at Ernakulam guest house


Modi is a vegetarian. Officials at the guest house had prepared dinner for the PM even though they were not informed that he would have food.

Kochi: Kerala food was served for dinner for Prime Minister Narendra Modi when he reached the Ernakulam guest house on Friday night.

Modi is a vegetarian. Officials at the guest house had prepared dinner for the Prime Minister even though they were not informed that he would have food. Chapati, fried rice, dal curry, sambar, stir fry (Mezhukkuvaratty), aviyal and vegetable curry were prepared.

For breakfast on Saturday, the Prime Minister will be served a long list of dishes including Idli, Dosa, Puttu, Idiyappam, Appam, chana curry, vegetable curry, bread-toast and bread butter-jam.

As many as 40 persons are accompanying the Prime Minister. Managers from tourism department guest houses in various district arrived at Ernakulam to provide food for the VIPs. This is the first time that Modi is coming to the Ernakulam guest house after becoming the Prime Minister. Modi was served Kerala food when he stayed in Thiruvananthapuram and Kozhikode guest houses earlier.

Tourism department officer said that they did not receive any special directions regarding the food to be served to the Prime Minister. Special arrangements were made for Modi to perform exercises in the morning. All measures have been taken under the directions of Special Protection Group (SPG). Prime Minister is scheduled to leave the guest house for Guruvayur at 8.55 am.
