Kerala floods: Rs 1 cr per hour credited to Distress Relief Fund via online
Thiruvananthapuram: A total of Rs 112 crore was received in the Chief Minister's Distress Relief Fund (CMDRF) on Wednesday till 6 pm through online payment. An average of Rs 1 crore per hour (Rs 1.67 lakh per minute) is contributed via online.
In addition to this, Rs 187 crore was directly credited to the account with State Bank of India. A total of Rs 309 crore was received till date. People both inside and outside the country are contributing through the website donation.cmdrf.kerala.gov.in. Rs 73.32 crore of the amount was received through payment gateways.
About 2.62 lakh people utilised the facility within 8 days. An average of 2462 persons (41 persons per minute) are contributing via the website. Besides, Rs 35 crore was received through Paytm and about Rs 4 crore through other bank UPIs. Seven bank/payment gateways are presently linked to the website developed by C-DIT.
The present system allows people to contribute through their accounts in 57 banks, four UPIs, QR code and international credit/debit cards. The procedures to link more gateways and other service providers with the website are progressing, so that the people residing in foreign countries can contribute to the fund.
