Kakki dam
Pathanamthitta: Kakki Dam will be opened on Monday at 11 am. District collector A Alexander instructed the tehsildars that the water level in the rivers of Kuttanad, Chengannur, Mavelikkara and Karthikapally taluks is likely to rise significantly by the evening and that everyone should be alerted.
The collector also directed the Departments of Revenue, Local Government, Police, Irrigation, RTO, Fisheries and Water Transport, KSEB, Water Authority and KSRTC to be prepared in case of evacuation of people from disaster-prone areas.
