Kokkayar landslide: Missing boy's body found after 3 days


Sachu’s body was received from an area down to his house. The body has been shifted to medical college.

Idukki: The body of seven-year-old Sachu Shahul who went missing in the landslide at Kokkayar here has been recovered after three days. Sachu was the son of Puthuparambil Shahul. With this, the search for the missing people in Kokkayar area has been stopped as all the bodies have been found. Six bodies were recovered from this area the previous day.

Sachu’s body was received from the area down to his house. The body has been shifted to medical college. His parents are admitted to the same hospital. Shahul had saved his parents, wife and two children from the mudslides. Meanwhile, Sachu went missing. The legs of Shahul’s father were fractured during the rescue mission.

The six deceased were identified as Shaji Chirayil (57), Cherippurath Ziyad’s wife Fousiya (28), her son Ameen Ziyad (10), daughter Amna Ziyad (7), Kallupurakkal Faisal’s children Afsan Faisal (8) and Ahiyan Faisal (4). The bodies of Afsara, Amna and Afiyan were found cuddled.
