Thiruvananthapuram: The compound wall collapsed onto a neighbouring house on Mudavanmugal Palace Road here. The family, including a 22-day-old baby, trapped inside the house was rescued by firefighters after hours long effort.
The incident took place on Saturday by 12:45 am, when the wall of the neighbouring house collapsed on top of a small four-room rented house, where the family was asleep.
Leela (80), Binu (35), Unnikrishnan (26), Sandhya (23), Jitin (4) and a 22-day-old baby were rescued by the fire force personnel.
Leela and Unnikrishnan were later admitted to the hospital after they felt uneasiness. Unnikrishnan, who was trapped under the heavy concrete, was rescued after one and a half hours of hard work.
