Thiruvananthapuram: From now on, fair price will be taken into consideration during land conversion as per the Kerala Conservation of Paddy Land and Wetland Act. The revenue department has directed the concerned authorities to issue an order in this regard.
In the process of converting paddy fields for residential purposes, there is a significant rise in the fair price and purchasing value of the specific strip of land. However, the government is currently not receiving its fair share in terms of stamp duty and other fees. The introduction of a new rule is expected to address and mitigate these losses effectively.
