Thrissur: A 3.3 magnitude earthquake jolted the premises of Peechi dam on Wednesday. Mild tremors occurred at Peechi, Podippara and Ambalakunnu. So far, no causalities were reported.
The natives here informed that they heard a loud noise when they felt the tremors.
Apart from Thrissur, tremors were felt in Palakkad district too.The earthquake was reported at Palakkad’s Palakkuzhy area which is close to Peechi dam.
The natives reported that they heard a loud noise similar to a thunderstorm when the tremor occurred.Cracks were developed on the walls of some houses here.
Kizhakancherry village officer has confirmed the earthquake in the region.
