Thrissur: Sujesh Kannat, a former CPM member who became whistleblower of Karuvannur Co-operative Bank Scam has been missing since Saturday. His brother has filed a complaint with the police here on Sunday.

Notably, Sujesh Kannat, former CPM local leader and branch secretary was at the forefront of the protest against the irregularities in the bank. He made vehement criticism against the party in many forums including the CPM branch meeting and alleged that even party members are involved in the scam. He was isolated in the party over this row and was ousted from the party two months ago.

Sujesh came up with evidence substantiating that party members were involved among others in availing Rs 50 lakh loan from the bank. He also pinpointed that justice should be given to both those who took loans from the bank and those who invested in the bank.

After Sujesh went missing, his family members have alleged that he received many threats over his remarks and acts flagging the irregularities in the bank. In this background, the family members have promptly filed a man missing case.

Meanwhile, police have initiated a probe in the case filed by Sujesh Kannat’s brother.
