Thiruvananthapuram: After joining the LDF, Kerala Congress (M) is going to implement the levy system like the Left wing parties. Though the amount to be paid by holders of each position has not been decided, the party decided that levy should be enforced to improve the unity and responsibility of party members.

Kerala Congress (M) is also mulling to turn the party into a cadre system like CPM and CPI. They are also considering implementation of normal membership and active membership. Switching party membership procedures to online mode also is under consideration.

Those who were appointed in important positions through the party will have to pay a large amount as levy in the new system.

Minister, MP, MLA, Chief whip, local body members, administrators, board-corporation chairpersons and members, members of various government and cooperative institutions and personal staff will have to pay levy.

Party office-bearers, steering committee, district presidents and tributary organisation office-bearers also will be directed to pay levy.

The leadership is planning to strengthen the organisation in grassroot level in order to maintain their position as a key member of the front.
