Kerala Congress leader PJ Joseph's wife Dr Santha Joseph no more

Thodupuzha: Dr Santha Joseph, wife of Kerala Congress (J) Chairman and former minister PJ Joseph, passed away on Tuesday. She was 79.

Reportedly, she had been undergoing treatment for liver-related diseases at a private hospital in Thodupuzha.

Santha Joseph served as the former Additional Director of the health department. She completed her studies at Government Medical College, Thiruvananthapuram in 1968 and was posted in a primary healthcare centre in Purapuzha.

She has served as a gynaecologist in various hospitals, including Pandappilly primary healthcare centre, Muvattupuzha Taluk Hospital, Thodupuzha Taluk Hospital among others.

She retired from service in 1999 while serving as the additional director of the health department in Thiruvananthapuram.

She is survived by her children Appu John Joseph, Dr Yamuna Joseph and Antony Joseph.

The mortal remains will be placed for public homage at her residence in Purapuzha on Wednesday at 4 pm.

The funeral is on Thursday at 11.30 am at St Sebastian’s Church, Purapuzha.
