Thiruvananthapuram: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that violence during the hartal observed by the Popular Front of India(PFI) was pre-planned. Dismissing the opposition's allegations, he pointed out that Kerala Police has taken commendable measures to control violence across the state during hartal.
"Some of the accused were arrested yesterday itself. More people will be arrested. They had covered their faces to hide their identity. The police should continue putting effort into tracing the accused behind the violence. All accused will be caught and will be brought before the law," CM said.
Meanwhile, CM took a dig at the opposition parties by warning them not to side with such organisations for short-term gains.
"Across Kerala, there were organized and violent actions from PFI activists. Their action caused a lot of damage. By wearing a mask, they unleashed violence across the state. Many people were injured, and even doctors were assaulted. Widespread incidents of violence which have not happened in recent times in Kerala took place yesterday," CM said.
Pinarayi Vijayan said that PFI's actions disrupted peace in our state. He added that the police force took effective measures to counter violence and has always taken strong action during similar situations.
