Thiruvananthapuram: Reports have emerged that the Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan and other ministers are planning visits to the United States of America (USA) and Cuba. The permission for the same will be sought from the union government, reports said.

As per the latest reports, the foreign visits to USA and Cuba are scheduled from June 8 to June 16. The USA visit is slated from June 8 to 13, while the Cuba visit is slated for June 13 to June 18.

The ministers and bureaucrats accompanying CM during the two visits are different.

Finance Minister, Speaker, Planning Board Vice Chairperson, Chief Secretary, Chief Principal Secretary, three Officers on Special Duty (including IAS officers and diplomats) and CM’s personal assistant will be part of the USA visit.

Health Minister, Planning Board Vice Chairperson, Chief Principal Secretary, an Officer on Special Duty and CM’s personal assistant will be part of the Cuba visit.

CM's wife too will accompany, it is learnt.

Interestingly, the reports come at a time when CM’s scheduled visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) was apparently cancelled due to the union government’s objection.
