Kerala clocks 256 new COVID cases on Monday

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala reported 256 new Covid-19 cases on Monday, informed the health department in a press release.

The district-wise statistics of positive cases: Ernakulam-60, Thiruvananthapuram-47, Kottayam-35, Kozhikode-29, Pathanamthitta-23, Kollam-14, Idukki-13, Thrissur-9, Palakkad- 7, Alappuzha-6, Kannur-6, Malappuram-4, Wayanad- 2 and Kasaragod- 1.

A total of 11,016 samples were tested in the last 24 hours.

No death was reported in the last 24 hours. The health department reported 56 deaths that are newly certified as Covid-19 deaths based on the revised rules. With this, the death toll climbed to 68,130 in the state.

Meanwhile, 378 recoveries were also reported in the state.

The district-wise statistics of recoveries: Thiruvananthapuram- 78, Kollam-27, Pathanamthitta-7, Alappuzha- 14, Kottayam- 49, Idukki- 9, Ernakulam- 84, Thrissur-49, Palakkad- 3, Malappuram-3, Kozhikode- 28, Wayanad- 15, Kannur- 8 and Kasaragod-4.

Total active cases in the state are 2,502.
