Kottayam: The BJP state core committee has decided to hold a one-day sit-in strike in front of the official residence of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan seeking the transfer of the Sanjith murder case to the NIA and against the CM's stance on the 'halal' controversy. CPM is supporting the 'terrorist forces', the committee observed.
BJP General Secretary Daggubati Purandareswari, in a press meet held after the meeting here, asked if Pinarayi Vijayan is eating 'halal' food. 'He said 'halal' meant edible food. Does that mean non-'halal' foods are inedible,' she asked. She added that BJP is against 'halal' food.
BJP state president K Surendran said that the chief minister's reaction on the controversy was without knowing the whole matter.
Attappadi infant deaths
A team headed by Kummanam Rajasekharan and C Krishna Kumar will visit Attappadi to study the recent deaths of infants in the tribal area. BJP will look into the allocation of the central funds in Attappadi, Surendran said.
We have the evidence of diversion of the funds allotted for Attappadi, he claimed.
The BJP will also hold protests in 280 locations on December 7 demanding a reduction in state fuel taxes.
