Kerala bypolls: High voltage campaign to conclude on Saturday
Thiruvananthapuram: The one-month long high voltage campaign for the upcoming bypolls to five assembly constituencies in Kerala will come to an end on Saturday by 6 in the evening. Sunday will be a silent campaigning day and the polling falls on Monday.
The candidates are busy wooing votes even at the last hour. LDF and UDF will be fighting neck-to-neck in Aroor and Ernakulam whereas a triangular battle is expected in Vattiyoorkavu, Manjeshwaram and Konni.
Police have tightened security in view of clashes expected during the conclusion of high voltage campaign. The places will be divided between various political fronts at major locations where high voltage campaigns take place.
In Manjeshwaram, the major places of campaign will be at Kumbala, Uppala and Hosangadi. In Vattiyoorkavu, Peroorkada will be the main centre of campaign. The parties have arranged band, Shinkarimelam, bike rally and procession for the final campaign.
In Ernakulam, the high voltage campaign of UDF will take place in front of town hall, LDF at Kaloor bus stand and NDA at Madhava Pharmacy junction.
The campaign places in Konni is decided as Post Office road for BJP, Aanakkoodu road for UDF and Chanthakkavala road for LDF. The major locations for campaigns is divided among the three political fronts in Aroor also.
