Kerala budget today; fair value of land, taxes likely to go up

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Finance Minister KN Balagopal will present the state’s budget for the financial year 2023-24 on Friday at 9 am in the Assembly. The new budget is likely to witness an increase in the property tax and fair value of land.

The charge for government services may also increase. A hike of Rs 100 is expected in the welfare pension.

Certain taxes related to motor vehicles are also likely to go up. The state government may launch projects to improve the income of farmers in the state.

The government employees are dissatisfied for not granting DA arrears and leave surrenders.
