Kerala budget allocates Rs 739 cr for Sabarimala development
Thiruvananthapuram: The government has allotted Rs 739 crore for developmental projects in Sabarimala. While presenting the state budget for the fiscal year 2019-20 on Wednesday, Finance Minister Thomas Issac said that Tirupati model development projects will be implemented at Sabarimala.
The decrease in revenue in Sabarimala during this pilgrimage season should not affect the other Devaswom temples. Rs 147.75 crore has been kept aside for arranging basic facilities at Nilakkal and Pampa. Rs 200 crore allocated for infrastructure development and Rs 40 crore granted for installing a 1 crore litre capacity sewage treatment plant in Pampa. New parking facilities will be introduced at Ranni and Nilakkal, Issac said.
At the same time, Rs 100 crore has been allocated for Travancore Devaswom Board, Rs 35 crore for Malabar Devaswom Board and Rs 10 crore for Kochi Devaswom Board.
