Kerala budget 2023 likely on January 20

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala budget 2023 is likely to be presented on January 20. The Department of Finance commenced preparations, though a final decision has not been taken. The legislative assembly session has been summoned on December 5 may be stalled in the middle of the month and resume in January.

The governor’s policy address may be postponed as the session extends to January.

Governor Arif Mohammed Khan approved the cabinet’s decision to summon the legislative assembly on December 5. The government will decide on when the session will conclude. This date has not been mentioned in the letter to the governor.

The next session will consider the bill which revoke the powers of the governor as chancellor of state universities. Meanwhile, the government has decided to table the other 24 bills prepared.
