Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala government will launch an e-wallet similar to e-payment applications like GooglePay and PhonePe. It is learnt e-wallet system will be developed by connecting the TSB online portal with the e-treasury in the next financial year.Finance Minister KN Balagopal announced the project while presenting the budget here on Friday.
Electricity, KWA bills, E-challans, and other government services can be paid through this e-wallet..
Finance Minister also said that Integrated Financial Management System (IFMS) applications will be restricted to those available only on the treasury network to ensure additional security of financial transactions. Service and Payroll Administrative Repository for Kerala (Spark) will also be connected in such a way that the employee's PIN and OTP will be enough to access the system.
The Finance Minister said that Aadhaar-based biometric authentication will be introduced from April 1 to ensure complete security of treasury transactions.
