Thrissur: The 51-day long strike in the Kerala Agricultural University (KAU) was withdrawn on Thursday following talks with Agricultural Minister P Prasad and Revenue Minister K Rajan in Thiruvananthapuram.
The strike was led by a democracy protection committee and CPM affiliated service organisations demanding to withdraw the demotion transfer order of KAU general secretary CV Denny.
Disciplinary action was taken against CV Denny over his social media post defaming MP Ramya Haridas on June 14, 2021.
The protests had impeded the administration of the university, hindered daily activities and also affected the operations of farms, which are the major source of income in the agricultural university.
