Chacko and Thomas
Kollam: Three individuals died of bison attacks in Kottayam and Kollam districts on Friday.
The deceased are Edamulackal native Geevarghese (65), Kottayam Kanamala native Chacko (65) and Thomas (60).

Chacko and Thomas were killed in two separate attacks by the same bison.
Chacko was sitting on the porch of his house when the bison attacked. Thomas was working in the grove at the time of the assault.
Locals claimed that it was the same bison that attacked both individuals. A group of angry natives are staging a protest against forest officials.
It is learned that the bison that attacked and killed Geevarghese in Kollam died following the incident.
Meanwhile, a wild bear attacked a Nilambur Tharipappotti Colony native, Velutha, when he went inside the forest to extract honey. He is admitted to the hospital with an injury to the leg.
Chalakudy (Thrissur) natives have also reported spotting bison in human habitations.
The presence of wild animals, including wild boars, bisons, bears and tigers has become a constant problem in hilly areas in the state. However, it is still unclear what resulted in the sudden spike in human-animal confrontations in recent weeks.
