Long way to achieve equal rights for women; Pinarayi Vijayan's greetings on National Girl Child Day


Thiruvananthapuram: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan greeted girls of the country on the occasion of National Girl Child Day. There is a long way to go to achieve equality for women, CM observed on his social media.

Women shall enjoy equal rights and freedom for the world to achieve a progressive and developed society. We have to go a long way to accomplish this. Let us pledge to work for an equal world, CM said

He also shared a photo of him with two girls.

The National Girl Child Day is celebrated in India on January 24. It was started in 2008 by the Union Ministry of Women and Child Development to spread public awareness about inequalities that girls face in Indian society.

CM is currently in the US for treatment.
