Thiruvananthapuram: As heavy rains continue to wreak havoc in Kerala, the state government has announced an ex-gratia of Rs 4 lakh to the families of people who were killed in rain-related tragedies. Minister for Revenue K Rajan has made the announcement as a primary compensation to the kins of the victims.
Addressing the media here on Sunday, the minister informed that the financial aid will be distributed without much delay.
Meanwhile, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday said the Central government would provide all assistance to Kerala to overcome the flood situation and that the government is monitoring the situation closely.
The NDRF has deployed 11 teams for rescue, search and relief operations in the state.
