Monson case: Crime Branch likely to form SIT

Thiruvananthapuram: The Crime Branch is likely to form a Special Investigation Team to carry out probe into the deals of Monson Mavunkal, accused in the antique deal fraud case. The senior police officials summoned a meeting at the police headquarters and discussed the same observing that more scams are coming to light.

Special Investigation Team will be formed by including more officials. At the same time, it is alleged that an NRI Malayali woman introduced Monson to police officials in the higher rank. Crime Branch has initiated an investigation on the same after getting hints on the woman in the complaint.

The woman who visited police headquarters has close connection with higher officials, sources hint. It is also alleged that the IG who intervened to settle the Crime Branch inquiry against Monson is also linked with the woman. Intelligence has been reviewing matters including the same.
