Samastha leader rubbishes allegations over ‘Love Jihad’

Kozhikode: Samastha Kerala Jamiyyathul Ulema state president Syed Muhammad Jiffri Muthukkoya Thangal has ruled out the allegations against the Muslim community over ‘Love Jihad’. He asserted that there is no ‘Love Jihad’ in Islam.

“No believer is asked to bring people from other communities to Islam,” he added.

The Samastha leader also condemned Pala Bishop’s controversial remark.

“Islam doesn’t have a jihad to influence people from other communities for religious conversion. If anybody is found indulging in such activities, they will not get any religious support. Religious leaders should not take a stance to hurt people in another religious community,” he added.

At the same time, the Samastha leader also criticised minister Vasavan for allegedly taking a stance in favour of Pala Bishop.

“ Minister Vasavan’s stance encourages Pala bishop’s statement. Chief Minister should clarify whether minister Vasavan declared the government’s stance over the row. The government should not take a stance that humiliates the feelings of a particular community,” said Jiffri Muthukkoya Thangal.

Meanwhile, he also criticised the government over lapses in handling the controversy over Pala bishop’s remark.
