Kochi: The Kerala High Court has dismissed the plea seeking to make only the marks scored in the entrance examination as criteria for professional course admission. The court quashed the petitions moved by CBSE managements.
In the fresh order issued on Friday, the court pronounced that the present system must be followed in admission to various professional courses.
The petition was moved against the preparation of the rank list based on plus two marks and entrance marks. But the High Court observed that the court already considered and settled the matter.
In 2004, a similar plea was submitted and the High Court settled the issue.
At present, the rank list for professional course admission is prepared based on the marks scored in Plus two exams and entrance examination.
The petition pointed out that CBSE students score poor marks while preparing rank lists in this manner.
Following this, they approached the HC seeking intervention to prepare rank lists based on the marks scored in the entrance test.
