CM warns against spreading communal hatred, directs police to take strict action

Thiruvananthapuram: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has declared that strict action will be taken against those who spread communal hatred through social media. He directed the police to take stringent action without any lapses against those who try to create a communal divide in the society.

The chief minister has given directions regarding this in a meeting that was attanded by senior officials in the police department and the chief secretary, held here on Thursday.

Kerala is popular for upholding secularism and brotherhood. But some people are trying to destroy this practice of Kerala. Strict action should be taken against such moves, said the chief minister. He has given the directions in the wake of the row over Narcotic Jihad remark.

The government will take strict action against the people who are engaged in spreading communal hatred in society through social media and other means. Special directions should be given to nab the culprits behind such offences. The higher officials have been asked to take immediate action, informed the CM.
