Kozhikode: MSF women's wing Haritha former state general secretary Najma Thabsheera lashed out at the statement of Muslim League general secretary against them. She stated that they were forced to file a complaint with the Women’s Commission after their self-respect was questioned.

"We are not wandering in Kozhikode town as mentioned by Muslim League General Secretary. We felt that our self-respect is being questioned. At that moment, we filed a five-page long complaint. But we are extremely disappointed that the party was not ready to listen to our version," said Najma while addressing a press meet here on Wednesday.

“Being a girl, it was really too disturbing to face such a situation. We held talks with many leaders at various levels officially and unofficially. They even defamed us. But we didn’t get justice from anywhere. Girls in Haritha are being controlled by a cyber goon. He claimed that he has got the photos and videos of the members in Haritha and most of us will commit suicide if he shares it on social media. We demanded action over this threat. But justice was denied to us,” revealed Najma.

“We are not puppets under control of anyone. A general secretary who receives the benefits of a system is circulating fake news on us. We are disappointed over it,” she pointed out.

“We don’t have any plans to quit the party. We will continue to fight by continuing in League. If necessary, we will think about establishing a new platform for girls. PMA Salam who is circulating fake news will be answerable to all, she added.

“They victimised us for protecting Navas. They should have settled the complaint against the individuals properly. But they tried to examine the complaint as an allegation against the party,” she criticised.
