Thiruvananthapuram: Transport Minister Anthony Raju informed that KSRTC will operate special services to Sabarimala from Thursday. The temple will reopen on Thursday for the monthly rituals in the Malayalam month of ‘Karkidakam’.
KSRTC assured that Covid protocol will be strictly followed in the service.
Sabarimala will reopen for five-day long rituals from July 15 to July 21.
KSRTC unit officers from Thiruvananthapuram Central, Pathanamthitta, Punalur, Kottarakara are assigned to run the special services.
Additional staff is also deployed for the preparations ahead of the service, informed the minister through a press statement.
KSRTC also opened a facility for Sabarimala pilgrims to book tickets to Pamba. A total of 15 buses are allotted for the service to Pamba. KSRTC informed that more services will be started if necessary.
Special service will be operated from Chengannur railway station to Pamba. Additional services will be provided from Kottayam and Erumeli depots on demand.
In the wake of the COVID-19 outbreak, passengers will be allowed to board the bus as per the seating capacity.
