Thiruvananthapuram: In what appears to be a shocking revelation, the Kerala Minister for the Welfare of Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes, K Radhakrishnan, informed yesterday that he faced a death threat for initiating probe against corruption in SC Development Department.
The person who raised death threat contacted him through a land phone number.
Earlier, the BJP State President K Surendran had also raised an allegation of huge corruption in the department. Though a probe was initiated into the corruption in March itself, controversy related to it triggered heated discussions now. Following this, the minister revealed about receiving a death threat.
K Radhakrishnan informed that he has been receiving threats soon after taking action against the corruption. The minister’s office informed that a complaint will be filed on the matter.
Revealing the death threat, the minister declared that he will not protect anyone involved in corruption. “I will not support those who cheat poor people. Strict action will be taken against the officials who are involved in corruption,” he asserted.
