Monsoon to intensify by Thursday, IMD forecasts heavy rain in Kerala

Thiruvananthapuram: The India Meteorological Department has predicted that South West Monsoon will intensify by Thursday. Hence, Kerala is likely to receive heavy rain in the next few days.
Very heavy rain will lash Kannur and Kasaragod districts on Saturday, alerted IMD.

An orange alert has been sounded in these districts on Saturday.

A yellow alert is sounded in Alappuzha, Ernakulam and Idukki districts on Wednesday.

Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki, Thrissur, Malappuram and Kozhikode will be placed under yellow alert on Thursday.

A yellow alert is issued in Ernakulam, Idukki, Thrissur, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasaragod on Friday.

Malappuram, Kozhikode and Wayanad districts will be placed under yellow alert on Saturday.
