Thiruvananthapuram: Opposition leader VD Satheesan has alleged that CPM turned into a party that protects criminal gangs, gold smugglers and rapists. He also questioned Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s silence over his party’s alleged links with the quotation gangs involved in Ramanattukkara gold smuggling.

“The people who are spearheading the cyber attacks of CPM are the key conspirators of all criminal cases. Involvement of the party members in Ramanattukkara gold smuggling gang should be investigated,” said the opposition leader.

CPM leadership in North Malabar has turned into slaves of criminal gangs. The party which rules the state has been using all influence to protect the criminal gangs. CPM has used these gangs for various purposes. The government should avoid freezing the investigation into the case,” he added.

The opposition leader also condemned the move to settle Kodakara black money case. “It has been three months since the incident in Kodakara took place. The party which rules the Centre sent the money to Kerala to sabotage the polls. CPM and BJP joined hands to settle the Kodakara case,” he criticised.
