Thiruvananthapuram: The state will be placed under total lockdown on Saturday and Sunday as part of the measures to decrease the COVID test positivity rate. Pre-scheduled exams will be conducted without any change.
Private buses will stay off the roads today and tomorrow. Meanwhile, KSRTC will operate limited service for people in essential services including health service.
No takeaways or parcels will be allowed from hotels but home delivery will be entertained. Hotels, restaurants and bakeries are allowed to function from 7 am to 7 pm.
Shops selling food items, grocery, fruits, vegetables, milk, fish, meat and toddy shops will function from 7 am to 7 pm.
Construction works will be permitted as per COVID protocol after seeking permission from the nearest police station.
Temples will be opened for daily rituals.
The state government informed that triple lockdown will be implemented in places where the highest test positivity rate recorded.
At the same time, lockdown relaxations will continue from Monday onwards.
Banks and other financial institutions will be operational on Monday.
