TDB plans to launch YouTube channel for temples

Alappuzha: The Travancore Devaswom Board has started discussions to launch a YouTube channel for temples. It is learned that the devaswom employees proposed the idea to the board.

The board is considering the proposal after examining complaints that temples are not getting enough promotion.

Over 1200 temples come under Travancore Devaswom Board. It is examined that the board is unable to livestream the auspicious events of temples through any platform.

By launching the YouTube channel, TDB plans to capture visuals that feature the importance and history of the temples, give information on special offerings to the devotees and so on. Along with this, the board also examined that allowing online offering facility will also help to increase the revenue.

The employees pointed out that the board would not face financial issue to run the YouTube channel as they can generate income through advertisements.

TDB will hold talks with courier companies to deliver offerings to the devotees. The board has decided to explore the online platform for generating revenue in view of the COVID crisis.
