Thiruvananthapuram: With the relaxations in lockdown, liquor sale will resume in Kerala from Thursday onwards. The BevQ app will not be relaunched. Instead of this, people will be allowed to purchase liquor directly from Bevco outlets.

The government has directed the outlets to ensure that social distancing is strictly maintained during the sale.

Earlier, it was informed that liquor sale will be carried out through booking via BevQ app. On the basis of this, the representatives of BevQ app held talks with the officials at the headquarters of Beverages Corporation.

During the meeting, BevQ app representatives pointed out some practical issues in relaunching the app. Following this, the authorities decided to stop using the app for liquor sale.
