Heavy rain likely in Kerala till June 16, IMD sounds yellow alert in 12 districts

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala is likely to receive heavy rainfall till June 16, predicted India Meteorological Department.

In view of the rain forecast, the IMD has sounded an orange alert in Idukki, Kannur and Kozhikode on June 15. The orange alert will continue in Kozhikode and Kannur districts on June 16.

Meanwhile, a yellow alert sounded in 12 districts except for Wayanad and Palakkad on Sunday.

Strong wind speed reaching 45-55 kmph gusting to 65 kmph likely along and off Kerala coast. Fishermen are advised not to venture into these sea areas from June 13 to June 16, alerted IMD.
