Kozhikode: Education minister V Sivankutty has informed that the general education department didn’t direct teachers to deliver the Chief Minister’s message to class 1 students at the doorstep before the admission festival. He pointed out that a fresh order in this regard will be issued.
“ The teachers are asked to forward the message to the students through WhatsApp or other methods,” clarified the minister.
He added that controversy erupted over the circulation of CM's message as the associations of the teachers misunderstood the instruction.
The teachers questioned the logic behind the distribution of CM’s message at the house of the students amid the lockdown. Teachers’ association under the opposition party also condemned this directive.
The Kerala Books and Publications Society will issue the printed message of the CM to DDE offices. AEOs in association with BRCs are asked to distribute this to all schools.
As per the directive issued earlier, headmasters are asked to carry out the distribution through PTA, School Managing Committee, teachers and volunteers.
