Venue for the swearing-in ceremony of Pinarayi Vijayan government
Thiruvananthapuram: The swearing ceremony of Pinarayi Vijayan-led LDF government has commenced at the central stadium here. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan took the oath of office and secrecy at first.
21 ministers including the CM will take the oath of office before governor Arif Mohammad Khan.
The first cabinet meeting will be held at 5.30 pm.
Sources close to the government informed that only a limited number of people allowed to attend the ceremony on the basis of the High Court’s intervention in view of the COVID crisis.
The ceremony was held at the venue built at the central stadium here. The venue can accommodate 1000 people by maintaining social distance.
500 people were invited to the function. But the opposition members refused to attend the function.
The invitees reached the stadium before 2.45 pm. Only invited people were allowed to enter the venue.
Those who obtained the pass to the ceremony must produce a COVID negative certificate obtained within 48 hours or certificate of receiving two doses of the COVID vaccine.
Entry to the venue was allowed through gates opposite to secretariat annexe 1 and press club. A gate pass was also provided along with the invitation.
Car parking facility was provided at secretariat main campus, secretariat annexe 2 and Kerala university campus.
The attendees were asked to wear a double mask and adhere to COVID protocol throughout the function. No additional pass was needed for those who have special car pass.
