Cyclone Yaas to form over Bay of Bengal around May 25, heavy rain likely in Kerala

Thiruvananthapuram: A low-pressure area is likely to form over north Andaman sea and adjoining the east-central Bay of Bengal around May 22 and intensify into a cyclonic storm around May 25, alerted India Meteorological Department.

The cyclone which likely to form over the Bay of Bengal will be called ‘Yaas’. The cyclone is likely to move northwestwards and reach the West Bengal-Odisha coasts around May 26 evening.

Kerala is likely to receive heavy rainfall due to the cyclone Yaas, alerted IMD.
