Pathanamthitta: The Central Water Commission (CWC) has issued flood warning at two places namely Kallooppara and Thumpamon in Pathanamthitta district. The commission observed a severe flood situation in these two places following the heavy rain which lashed across the state in the wake of cyclone Tauktae.
The Central Water Commission examined the condition of rivers in Kerala with the heavy rainfall under the influence of cyclone Tauktae.
Following this, the CWC alerted that there are chances for flooding in Manimala and Achankovil rivers in Pathanamthitta.
“River Manimala at Kalooppara in Pathanamthitta district of Kerala continues to flow in severe situation at 8.00 hrs today. It was flowing at a level of 6.08 m with rising trend which is 0.08 m above its danger level of 6.0m and 3.56 m below its previous High Flood Level of 9.64 m (2018-08-16). River Achankovil at Thumpamon in Pathanamthitta district of Kerala continues to flow in severe situation at 8.00 hrs today. It was flowing at a level of 10.5 m with rising trend which is 0.50 m above its danger level of 10.0m and 3.23m below its previous High Flood Level of 13.735 m (1097-11-07), reads the flood warning issued by CWC.
