Thrissur Pooram: COVID negative certificate mandatory; no entry for children


People aged above 45 years must produce COVID vaccination certificate. The district authority also imposed restrictions on entry to Thekkinkkadu Maidan.

Thrissur: Thrissur Pooram will be held without avoiding any customs and abiding by the COVID protocol. The decision was taken in a meeting of higher officials of the district health department.

No one will be allowed to attend Pooram without producing a COVID negative certificate. People aged above 45 years must produce COVID vaccination certificate. The district authority also imposed restrictions on entry to Thekkinkkadu Maidan.

Police will intensify inspection on Pooram day. Children would not be allowed to attend the Pooram. The authority imposed new restrictions in view of the surge in COVID cases.
