Kochi: Former Chief Minister Oommen Chandy’s son-in-law Varghese George joined Twenty-20, a corporate-backed political party, here on Saturday. Varghese George is husband of Oommen Chandy’s elder daughter Mariya.
He joined the party during the advisory committee meeting held in Kochi on Saturday morning. Varghese joined the party after resigning from the CEO post of a company abroad.
Kochouseph Chittilappilly, chairman of Twenty-20 advisory committee, handed over the membership to Varghese Joseph. He will serve as advisory committee member and youth wing coordinator of the party.
Apart from Varghese, actor Lal and his son-in-law Alan Antony also joined Twenty-20. The party appointed Lal as the advisory committee member of the party and Alan as the youth wing president.
