Kochi: The special court has adjourned the witness hearing of actress Kavya Madhavan in the controversial actress attack case. Though Kavya appeared for the hearing on Friday, the court adjourned the hearing procedure.

The revised date of hearing will be informed later.

It is learned that the court took the decision as the hearing of two other witnesses was being carried out at the closed chamber of the court.

Kavya Madhavan, wife of actor Dileep who is an accused in the case, appeared before the trial court here around 11 am on Friday.

At present, the hearing of 127 witnesses is completed. Over 300 witnesses are named in the case.

The Supreme Court has granted 6 months more time to the trial court for completing the trial proceedings into the actress attack case. The SC directed all people related to the case to cooperate with the trial court to complete the procedures.

On November 29, 2019, a Supreme Court bench including AM Khanwilkar and Dinesh Maheshwari ordered to complete the trial into the case within 6 months. But the COVID lockdown and related issues interrupted the trial.
