Kochi: KSRTC management has decided to restrict employees from taking off or leave on Friday, Saturday and Monday. The collections during these three days are very high.

But services get cancelled in most of the depots due to shortage of staff. This will affect KSRTC’s revenue too. Observing this, KSRTC management directed the unit heads not to sanction off or leave to the staff on Friday, Saturday and Monday.

Instead of these days, leave or off could be granted to the employees on Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. But a group of staff expressed displeasure over this decision.

They argued that the number of staff on leave will increase in the other four days and it will affect the services.

Usually, most of the employees take leave on days between Tuesday to Thursday. Cancellation of services on Monday, Friday and Saturday occur in rare circumstances, argued the staff.

They added that services get cancelled in some depots due to shortage of staff when some people take medical leave or other leave on emergency.
