Kannur: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, who is contesting the assembly polls from the Dharmadom constituency, has filed his nomination papers on Monday around 11 am. He filed the nomination papers before the returning officer Bevin John Varghese.
CPM district secretary M V Jayarajan also accompanied the CM to the returning officer’s office.
Pinarayi Vijayan has filed two sets of nomination papers before the returning officer.
CPM leaders C N Chandran and P Balan supported Pinarayi Vijayan in the nomination papers.
It is hinted that he has mentioned the controversial Lavalin case in the nomination paper.
Earlier, the Election Commission has informed that details of criminal cases against the candidates should be added to the nomination paper.
The Marxist veteran, wearing a face shield, mask and gloves, was accompanied by party leaders, including CPI(M)'s Kannur district secretary M V Jayarajan.
This is the second time Vijayan is contesting from Dharmadam constituency.
