Kozhikode: Nilambur MLA PV Anvar, who faced allegations for his absence from poll-bound Kerala, has revealed that he moved to South Africa for a business purpose. The MLA took to his Facebook page and opened up about his business tour to South Africa.
“I was engaged in gold-diamond mining project worth Rs 20,000 crore. I will be able to create 25,000 job opportunities under this project,” said Anvar in a Facebook video.
CPM will field PV Anwar from the Nilambur constituency.
His absence from Kerala had triggered a controversy ahead of the polls. He had been missing from Nilambur for many months.
Responding to all controversies, the MLA took to his Facebook page and gave an explanation.
In the video, he confirmed that he will return to Kerala on Thursday.
“I reached Sierra Leone for gold-diamond mining after researchers found deposit of gold and diamond in the 50,000-acre forest land. Now, I’m returning to Kerala after preparing a DPR of the comprehensive project. I will be able to give job to 25,000 people under this project. I have 30 percent partnership in the project worth Rs 20,000 crore,” revealed Anvar.
He added that his new venture will benefit the struggling people in his native place.
The MLA also sought prayers from all for his new venture.
