Thiruvananthapuram: The coast guard officials have seized three Sri Lankan boats at Vizhinjam here on Sunday. Suspecting drug trafficking, the officials have been continuing the search on these boats.

The coast guard has intensified searches in Vizhinjam region since Saturday. Amidst this, three Sri Lankan boats were seized.

It is learned that the three boats carried 19 people on board.

The coast guard officials did not disclose further details on the search.

The boats will be taken to Vizhinjam coast or Kochi by evening.

The Coast Guard is expected to reveal more details after shifting the boats.
