Kozhikode: Balussery UDF committee has filed a complaint with KPCC opposing the candidature of actor Dharmajan Bolgatty. The actor is being considered as a candidate for Balussery in the upcoming assembly election.
In the complaint to KPCC, the UDF committee pointed out that if UDF fields Dharmajan in the polls, the rival parties will discuss the actress attack case as a political weapon. Hence, UDF will have to play defensive over the case and it will defame the front, noted the committee in the complaint.
A UDF local committee meeting held at Balussery cooperative college unanimously opposed the decision to field the actor.
UDF activists including KPCC members were present at the meeting.
“Fielding a candidate like Dharmajan will defame UDF. If he is fielded, UDF will be responsible to give a reply on cases including actress attack. We need an experienced politician to obtain power in Balussery seat,” read the complaint.
