Thrissur Pooram to be held with all rituals as per COVID protocol

Thrissur: Thrissur Pooram will be held with all rituals as per the COVID protocol. A high-level meeting chaired by minister VS Sunil Kumar took the decision on Saturday.

According to reports, the authority has decided to stage the Pooram in an extensive manner compared to last year. District Collector, health officials and devaswom officials attended the meeting.

The decision on matters including the number of people allowed to attend the Pooram will be taken after examining the situation. A final decision regarding this will be taken by March.

At the same time, the authorities have granted permission to the Devaswom officials for conducting the Pooram exhibition. Following the pandemic, Thrissur Pooram was cancelled last year for the first time in 58 years.
