Kochi: CBI will forward a letter to Life Mission and Vigilance seeking files relating to the controversial Life Mission scam. The CBI officials have made the move after the High Court granted permission to continue probe into the case.

On Tuesday, the HC rejected the pleas seeking to dismiss the investigation into the alleged FCRA violation in the housing project in Wadakancherry with financial aid from UAE under Life Mission.

So far, CBI only received the copies of the documents related to the housing project deal.

Earlier, CBI asked Life Mission CEO UV Jose to produce the documents related to the project. As the original documents were handed over to the Vigilance, UV Jose submitted a copy of the file to the CBI.

Though the HC permitted CBI to continue the probe, the documents recovered from the vigilance probe were submitted in the court. The vigilance team submitted the documents relating to the case in the court soon after recovering it.

Meanwhile, the government will move an appeal in the Supreme Court against the HC order.

The appeal will a mention factual error in the verdict. It is reported that the government received legal advice to file the appeal. Hence, the government will approach the Supreme Court with the appeal next week.
